When I hear Barack Obama I want to puke.

Here's something that gets me. Everyone (everyone meaning media types) just goes on and on about how great Barack Obama is at giving speeches, etc. I can't stand to listen to Obama, I have never made it through one of his speaking engagements (on TV that is, I would not be caught dead at an Obama rally.)

Quite honestly, his speeches suck. What are his speeches about? Everytime the opens his mouth it is all about how screwed up America is, how miserable our lives are, how "evil" America is/was; and finally, he goes on and on how just his mere presence is going to make everything better.

Senator Obama, I am not miserable, America is not evil and has not been evil. As a matter of fact I have prospered under the presidency of George W. Bush than I ever have. I am by no means wealthy, will likely never be, but I really don't care. I have a house that is mine, I have vehicles that are mine and I can take care of my children.

W didn't do anything to make this happen, he made it government policy to get the hell out of my way and let me do it. That's what you fail to understand Senator, America doesn't need a political messiah, we need for government to get out of our lives as much as possible.

Sure, America is not without her problems, but you Senator are not being part of the solution and you will most certainly be part of the problem.

Global Warming will destroy the world as we know it, but not in the way you think.

Here's the good news. People are starting to reject the global warming hype and hysteria. People are standing up and throwing down their bulls$&t cards. But we have to keep up the fight, because if we don't global warming will destroy the world as we know it.

Please note when I say "global warming" I am referring to the moronic notion of man made global warming that will melt all the glaciers, flood all the plains, make more hurricaines, make it too hot to live, usher in a new ice age, cause wars and make people sick or whatever it is the global warming hustlers are pushing at the moment.

We have to stand up to global warming nazis and we have to do it today. It is not enough that we continue to live our lives and not bow to the idiotic demands of the environmentalist nutjob crowd. We have to get eco-kooks out of our government as well. Not just the elected officials that are pushing this but also the lobbyists.

The means to the proposed end (completely "green" world with no CO2) is total and complete control of our lives and lifestyles. CO2 is the currently villian of the eco-kook crowd, and for good reason. We will never be rid of it. The eco-villain in the past has been litter, poluted water, aresol cans. All of these things we have been able to elimate (or greatly decrease.)

The environazis needed something else, something that wouldn't go away. Hence Carbon. Carbon Dioxide, Carbon footprint, ad nauseum. Check out the wikipedia entry for "carbon-based life"

"Carbon forms the backbone of all life on Earth." All life on Earth! CO2, we produce CO2 everytime we exhale. Make no mistake, the eco-kooks what to control all aspects of your life.

Their great fiction, global warming, will destroy the world as we know it. If we let them.

Paying too much for gasoline? They don't think so.

Everyday on our way to work, or to carry out our daily errands we pass gas stations. Looking at the signs the price of gas per gallon is around $4 or more. Everyone is in agreement that we are paying too much for gasoline.

Our Democrat controlled congress promised in 2007 to fix the gasoline prices. Since then prices have gone up. As prices go up or Democrat controlled congress tells us that we are not allowed to drill for our own oil. Senator John McCain has proposed a gasoline tax holiday where basically, we don't pay taxes on gasoline at the pump.

The Democrat controlled congress led by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have not only nixed the gas tax holiday, but they are trying to raise gasoline tax. If their plan comes to fruition the price of gasoline and diesel will rise by 10 cents per gallon in taxes alone.

We have done our part. The trend in America is that people are buying more fuel efficient cars. Demand is down. Now we need to increase the supply. We will have the opportunity to make that decision in November.

Barack Obama will break the back of our economy.

The economy is not doing well right now. It is yet to be determined if we are actually in a recession, but I am sure that the Dems and MSM are crossing their fingers so they will finally be able to talk about "The Bush Recession."

It will also give Barack Obama more opportunity talk about his plans for "change" in the economy. The corner stone of this change will be a raise in taxes. Obama asserts that he will not tax us middle and lower class Americans only those who are "rich" or even "super-rich."

He will accomplish this by raising the tax rate on those in the upper income tax brackets, but also by increasing capital gains tax rate. Barack's assumption is that trading stocks and selling commodities (such as real estate) is only the playground of the American blue-bloods. This mindset is naive and stupid.

Most Americans today trade in stocks and bonds through 401k and IRA retirement plans. With Obama raising taxes on capital gains it will damage your prospects for retirement. With Obama's tax increases you will get less of the profits when you sell your house for another one. He is not attacking the rich, he is attacking you and me.

What is the point of Obama's proposed tax increases? It can't be for increased revenue to the government. The Bush tax CUTS of 2003 vastly increased the whole amount of revenue that the US Treasury took in from the rich.

So why is Obama sticking to these tax increases? I wish I knew.

Rebuttal to the idiot at progressive.org or Why I AM Patriotic

Some dimwit at the Progressive wrote this article about how bad America sucks. I posted a comment in response and here it is:

Your view of the US is warped & bitter, the glass will always be half empty. You named a series of bad things, Nazis, Imperial Japan, etc. The US is what stopped those things. You say that we need to give more of our resources to Africa et al. It doesn't matter how much we give, there are always bad men (Mugabe) to take the money and resources out of where it is intended. See Mogadishu. At some point they will need to stand up and take care of themselves.

We are the greatest nation.

Our 10,000 nuclear weapons? Yes, because with those we faced down the USSR who with their thousands of nuclear warheads would have spread their totalitarian regime across the globe.

Our troops stationed in 120 countries? Most those troops stationed at embassies, stations of diplomacy, meaning that we have peaceful relations with most countries and are there invitation, that makes us great.

We consume more resources because we are more productive & industrious. This adds to our wealth which we (both government and private citizens) are more generous with.

The distribution of our wealth demonstrates that we are MORE equal. Before the birth of this nation the distribution of wealth was the one man (king) controlled all of the wealth while everyone else had nothing and the trend continues to this day in other totalitarian states. In the United States, anyone and everyone has the opportunity become wealthy. That makes us great.

Corporations represent democracy and freedom. Corporations are embodied by many people (often times the people who work there) taking ownership of a company and sharing its profits among themselves (ironically this is what socialism purports to do but fails at.)

Our infant mortality rate is worse than you think and is a strike against the "great" column, I call it abortion.

At Abu Graib, we put a stop to it once it came out that is more than can be said for others. At Guantanamo, the prisoners have it better than our own prisoners. So much so that the bad stories have to made up (Koran flushing anyone?)

For all of the babble about Bush/Cheney assaulting rights and liberties? Exactly which of your rights have been violated by Bush/Cheney? Compare that to the recent fight we just had in the Supreme Court where so called "Progressives" tried to literally remove an amendment from the Constitution. But the people won that one, the Constitution won that one and that makes us great.

The United States of America, whether you love it or whether you hate it, it's the best thing going today.
